What inspired ABBA to record albums in Spanish? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I found a ABBA Spanish language album in my box of music and I often wondered what inspired ABBA to do Spanish language albums? The album I have is ABBA's Gold album in Spanish and it's a great album and it's amazing how ABBA mastered Spanish so well. Did ABBA do any other Spanish language albums besides this one?

Why I think ABBA wanted to record albums in Spanish was so they could attract the Spanish language market just as they had done with the Swedish language market they began with and just like in English ABBA had hoped to become successful in the Spanish language market. And ABBA did that. Their Spanish language version of ABBA Gold is a wonderful album and I wonder how many Spanish language albums ABBA released?

I got to listen to ABBA's Spanish language version of ABBA Gold and it is a truly wonderful album and the way they took their songs and translated them into Spanish is simply amazing and I wondered how ABBA mastered Spanish so well?

Incidentally the duo Roxette (also from Sweden) also recorded an album of some of their biggest hits in Spanish. It's titled Baladas En Espanol and I have a copy of it. Just like I own a copy of all of Roxette's albums.
