Thumbs up Ken Jennings becomes Official Host of "Jeopardy!", Mayim Bialik is Out

Mayim Bialik Out as "Jeopardy!" Host
by Peter White
December 15, 2023

Mayim Bialik will no longer be part of the Jeopardy! hosting team. She posted the news on Instagram on Friday.

Ken Jennings has been hosting Season 40 of the syndicated show by himself and will now continue to do so.

As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news. Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy! I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! family.

For all of you who have supported me through this incredible journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff and crew of America’s Favorite Quiz Show, thank you.

To some of the naysayers about Mayim Bialik, I thought she was the right fit for the show. She's very bright and personable and had great rapport with the contestants. But when she left in solidarity of the actor's strike, that was the downfall as Ken Jennings got more airtime. He has grown into the hosting role that Alex Trebek held for 38 years.

I'm guessing Mayim Bialik will have to give up Primetime Celebrity Jeopardy! too because Ken Jennings took over for her this season on that one after Ms. Bialik chose to walk out.

Plus, should we still have had a better choice for a permanent, long-term Jeopardy! host than Ken Jennings?

Yes! Joey Lauren Adams would make a future Jeopardy announcer and paired well with Host Ken Jennings. But On the other hand, Johnny Gilbert is still announcing in his record setting 40th Syndicated Season.

Ken Jennings on Mayim Bialik’s "Jeopardy!" Exit: “It Took Me Off Guard
by Denise Petski
December 26, 2023

Ken Jennings is sharing his thoughts on Mayim Bialik‘s exit as host of "Jeopardy!". The two had been sharing hosting duties on the syndicated show and its primetime specials.

Jennings now will take over as sole host of the syndicated game show after Bialik announced on December 15 that she would not be returning.

It took me off guard, because I loved working with Mayim and I’m gonna miss her,” Jennings told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Tuesday.

I can’t speak to her decision-making process or her opinions about it. But on my end, I’m just a fan of Jeopardy! and I’m always delighted to host when they call upon me. I just feel extremely lucky to have even been considered for this job as a non-broadcaster.

It should’ve been only one host on the syndicated show to begin with. A host is the life and blood of the show. Having two hosts rotate is a big mistake.

I didn’t think Mayim was any good and I think Ken Jennings is even worse. Can’t stand him.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I meant to state "Joey Lauren Adams has a great voice for hosting Jeopardy!.", I didn't say anything about announcing for Jeopardy!.
