These lyrics are for the original 1970 theme song. They were written in 1976 by Dina Dore, wife of soap opera theme song composer Charles Paul. Here they are!
All my children have come Through the wilderness To the promised land There to be free Who will show them the path To the new frontier? Who will take their hands Down to the sea? Let it shine On this grove Someday they'll know Love's the only way They must fasten their dreams To another shore Evermore Until they find me Their shadows roam Someday they'll know Love's the only way They must follow the tide Where the seabirds fly Evermore Until they find me |

That theme was the best. Charles Paul's themes are timeless. Loved AMC 1970-90, and As the World Turns 1956-81.

Wow! I loved that! I had no idea AMC's 1970 theme even had lyrics. I wonder if the current (revamped 90s version) does?
