Myles Goodwyn, a singer/songwriter for multi-platinum rock band April Wine, died today at age 75. No further details on cause of death, location, or funeral details will be disclosed, according to a spokesman.

April Wine has sold more than 10 million recordings worldwide.

Goodwyn and the other members of April Wine were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame in 2010.

Goodwyn also received the East Coast Music Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008 and the SOCAN National Achievement Award in 2002.

In 2016, he released his memoir, Just Between You and Me. His second book, Elvis and Tiger, was a fiction novel published in 2018.

The Myles Goodwyn and Friends Of The Blues recording released in 2018 earned a JUNO nomination for Blues Recording of the Year in 2019. The recording also won the ECMA award for Blues Recording of the Year in 2019.

His followup blues recording that year, Myles Goodwyn and Friends of the Blues 2, won the same blues category in 2020.

Goodwyn left the group for live performances earlier this year and continued to perform live with his acoustic trio.

Sad to learn that he has passed away. I'm not a fan of April Wine but I'm familiar with Myles Goodwyn for being the producer of an amazingly strong melodic hard rock album from 1979, the album I'm referring to is by the Canadian rock band Teaze and the title of the album is One Night Stands. An amazingly strong album that should have catapulted Teaze into the big time but sadly it was not meant to be. I most recommend the Rock Candy CD reissue of One Night Stands which contains the bonus track "Loose Change".

In recent years Teaze has re-formed and are touring around performing live shows and the band also has a Facebook page.
