Default How was Joanie and Chachi written back in the show-Happy Days?

I know that Joanie loves Chachi was short-lived but how were they written out of Happy Days and when Joanie Loves Chachi was canceled how were they written back in Happy Days.

Joanie did not want to be apart of the band and wnated to come back home and practice teaching. She became a sophmore and was a Teacher's Assistant at the Patton Vocational High School.

Besides Joane and Chach, Did the rest of the Joanie Loves Chachi cast return back to Happy Days after the show was cancelled?

I saw the episode where Joanie told her parents that she and Chachi were moving to Chicago. They had spent the summer in Chicago working with the band, and came home for a visit. Her parents were so happy to have her home that she had a difficult time telling them she planned to go back. When she did, her dad got really upset and forbade her to leave. Joanie had enrolled in Northwestern U. already and her mom was like, "Howard, wasn't that the university that you couldn't get into?!" Finally, Fonzie had to talk to Mr. C and bring him to terms with the fact that Joanie had grown up and could choose her own life.

I loved that episode because Joanie stood up to Fonzie and actually backed him down! When Fonzie asked her to go to her room, she pointed her finger at his chest and shouted, "No one is going to make me go to my room! Not you or anyone else, do you hear me?!" Then she stormed upstairs, but first said, "And if you think I'm going to my room, I'm not! Hmph!" Chachi pulled Fonzie back up straight because he had bent slightly from being shocked at how Joanie just went off on him. It was hysterical!!

The question was did Al and Chachi's mother return to Happy Days after Joanie Loves Chachi was cancelled?

I was thinking that Al came back, but I'm not as familiar with the Joanie-less episodes. Chachi's mom and Al did return for the final episode, "Passages". Al Molinaro did guest appear as Father Delvechio.

I think the episode when Al guest starred as Father Delvechio was on today at 3pm on TV LAND. I think Fonzie was at a wedding or somethng
