I wonder if they will correct the mess they made of season 1 when it was originally released.

I've been wondering when Shout Factory would get around to releasing this show as a complete series, the individual season DVD sets have been available for some time now. Maybe this is being done in response to MPI releasing Ozzie & Harriet as a complete series.
The main question with this Father Knows Best complete series is if the 1st season has been corrected to have all unedited episodes. I'll be curious to find out. Also wondering if additional episodes of Window On Main Street might be included as extras. |

Problems with the original season 1 release:
1. As noted, the heavy use of syndication-edited episodes. 2. Horrible quality on episode 2: Lesson in Citizenship 3. Incorrect credits on several episodes. Some episodes have generic credits from season 3, cut down to remove cast entries. |

$12 a season. Thats cheaper than what I paid for each season.

This was previously exclusively available at Wal-Mart. Now its a wide release. I wonder (and hope) if they'll be any more budget-priced complete series coming of other shows they've previously released all seasons of.

I don't remember exactly how much I paid for each individual season but I'm sure it was more than just $12 per season, it was probably more like $25 or $30 per season.
The episode menu screens on the individual season DVD's look mostly the same except for season 5 which has a different design and the episodes are numbered differently. With regards to how the episodes are numbered on the menu screens, season 1 episodes are numbered 1-26, season 2 episodes are numbered 27-63, season 3 episodes are numbered 64-100, season 4 episodes are numbered 101-133, season 5 episodes are numbered 1-38, then season 6 reverts back to what seasons 1-4 were doing and season 6 episodes are numbered 172-203. Someone really messed up with those season 5 menus.

For FKB, I really doubt Shout will expend any effort to correct past mistakes. But for Ozzie and Harriet, those producers reportedly used the UCLA archive. For season 1 of FKB, I'd like to see that happen--but I doubt it will. That minor trend is just from some studios--CBS is doing absolutely nothing. It'd be great if some company like MPI would do a deal and get some of those properties--like My Three Sons--completed and done right. |
