I'd say many here don't know the Edsel and it's short history. I recall it and didn't know why it failed, but that it was ugly and being pushed by a man, Henry Ford to honor his son.... Here is the skinny on it, and I'm hearing many comparing it to the EV flop. The people do not want the EV's.

Caroline,
I am very aware of the Edsel's history, as I was born very close to the date of the Edsel's debut. |

If I had a Ford Edsel I could retire early.
Gas is going to run out and people are going to have to move to EV's. |

Correction: the Edsel was not a Ford division product. It was intended to be a step up from the Ford division line. I believe it was meant to compete with Pontiac and Dodge.

And when these run out, it's the horse and buggy. Or on foot or no more world.
And we hope our leaders are working on how to manipulate the SUN we'll to keep that Solar working... Critical Minerals for the EV Batteries: Lithium-ion batteries, the kind that power almost all EVs, use five “critical minerals”: lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, and graphite.May 5, 2023 |
