Default The Prof....

Could make a radio out of a coconut but couldnt fix a damn hole in a boat?? lol. I know that GI is supposed to be one of those *silly* shows that dont make any sense (Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, etc!), but seriously The Prof. was like this huge genius making all these things out of fruit and discovering new things when he couldnt try to patch up a boat. And he built a radio-which got stations to come in with GOOD RECEPTION! lol. Oh, and dont forget that he was SO multi-lingual! Where did he learn all those foreign languages anyways?!? lol. I look way too deep into this show lol.

Oh, I forgot...

He was SO cute on the show, he was my GI crush, but have you looked at him today? ICK! He let himself go. Age was not kind to him!!! Actually, they ALL went down on their looks-with the exception of MaryAnne. Shes still beautiful.

The Prof didn't build the radio...lol. Mr. Howell brought it with him on the boat so he could listen to the stock reports. The Professor did recharge the batteries though....
About not being able to fix the boat: he tried, many times, but many people forget that the boat actually *fell apart* in episode 8 called 'Goodbye Island.' The tree sap glue they used to patch the holes dissolved and the whole thing fell apart. After that it was just a pile of lumber, so he couldn't really "repair" it.
As far as building another boat goes, Sherwood Schwartz has always said that while the Professor had many degrees, none of them were in "boat building." The Prof even acknowledges that nautical things and boats are not in his many areas of expertise.

LOL. Very true. Give the man a coconut and a bamboo pole and he could make you anything.

LOL! yeah, the man's a wizard with a coconut.

he'll always be my favorite castaway. the combination of his vast intelligence and his good looks just make me wish i was on that island with him.
no, really, i'm not completely out of touch with reality....i think.

and about him looking bad now....well sheesh! russell is rapidly approaching the ripe old age of 78....what do you expect? he's still a nice guy though.

anyway...hi all, i'm new....as if you couldn't tell. this place looks great!

to courtney: i read your story at gilligansisle.com....i loved it! i also think gilligan and mary ann are the cutest together! and YES she DID have a crush on him! it was so obvious. even more obvious than the crush that ginger had on the professor. those two should have ended up together too. what cute couples they would have made.

Aww, thank you so much for taking the time to read it! I know it's long and takes a while. LOL. I appreciate it. (Workin' on the sequel...shh, it's a secret. hehe)
Oh, yeah, the crush was so totally obvious. I love oblivious people, however, who are like "Oh, no, she never did anything that'd make you think that..." **shakes head** Sheesh... Hehe.
Welcome to the boards!

it wasn't at all long.....and if it was....it was a good story so it didn't seem to be long. of all the GI fan fiction that i've found.....yours is the best story i've read. i wish more people would write some quality stories. i've found very few stories at all....and most of them sound like they were written by ten year olds who flunked english class. the other one was some sick porno thing. ick! i DID NOT need to read that. does anyone know of any places to find good fan fic? i've had it with search engines. keep writing more good stuff! i'm currently working on a prof/ginger romance thing....but i don't know if i'm going to write it just about them...or if i'm going to throw some kind of bigger plot and story into it. i have a few more ideas for stories too....they might get written in the next 2 years. lol.

Aw, thank you! Yeah, I wish there was more good GI fanfic online. Alot of it is just really badly written or just...wrong. LOL. Did you try www.fanfiction.net? It has a few really good ones.
I'd definitely read your fanfics when you get them written; GI fandom needs more great stories!

LOL! yeah....he looked quite good for 40.
he was born nov. 10, 1924.....that would make him 40 in the first season. but i don't care! he's still handsome! (i dont' like to say "hot" or "cute" cause he isn't either of those.....he's just....handsome.) or he was rather.....he's just, well, old now. *sigh* everyone gets old. i have to rely on tapes to live in the past. my obsession with harrison ford had to end. he's old enough to be my grandfather for pete's sake! but indiana jones is still the hottest archeologist in the world. there aren't enough nice young actors today.....they all have issues or something.

*sigh* i have to say.....i'm over him. it's a combination of the fact that he's just too darn old....and i have no respect for him anymore after he left his wife and is running around with calista. that's just wrong. ew.
