I missed the exact date by a few days, but let's celebrate nonetheless!

18th october 1988: the date of the premiere of Roseanne, 35 years ago!

It is hard to explain the fascination and the legacy this show holds on me; the sitcom is my favorite genre, and I always thought that the perfect one should have the right balance of laughs, heart, drama. It is especially on the latter that Roseanne has an extra gear, and the troubles the Conners have encountered really made me feel most attached to them, like it never happened with any other show.
I watched it occasionally as a very young kid when it aired when I was a kid, developing also a small crush on Darlene (and now I have for Becky); then I rediscovered in th half 2000s when the dvd boxsets were released. Since then it has been my favorite show; occasionally disputed with Frasier, but in the end there's no denying that if I had to pick just one series to watch it would be this one: it taught me lessons and it made me laugh like a few others, cry like even fewer others, and especially made me care like no other.

Times flies so fast, and it is amazing that the actors are still around playing their roles after all this years. Thanks them all for the memories.
And without seeking controversy, I'm sorry that things didn't work with Roseanne. She created something unique, and I'll always have a soft spot for her in my heart.

I wished I'd be a better writer and have more time to make a proper thread, but this will have to do at the moment :P
