I was watching a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from 2016 on Youtube this morning and saw a guy named Les Marshak and he is a TV announcer and when I saw him when they showed him announcing a commercial break I found him so handsome and cool and he reminded me of Marvel's Magneto from X-Men. Has Les Marshak been a famous announcer in TV for a long time? Because I had never even heard of him and he has a great talent of announcing shows very well. How long has Les Marshak been in TV? And does he announce shows for other networks as well?

I remember Les Marshak from my days growing up in New Jersey in the late 1960s. He worked at WABC where he replaced overnight DJ Roby Yonge after was fired due to broadcasting clues to Paul McCartney's alleged "death". After leaving WABC, he became a prolific voice over announcer, especially for NBC which used him on the Today show and numerous sports events.
Besides the Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade, he has been the voice for many awards shows, including the Tonys, Oscars and Grammys and the PBS Memorial Day concert and A Capitol Fourth. |

I researched more info on Les Marshak and discovered he got his start doing radio commercials in New York and from the many Youtube videos I found about Les Marshak he is a legend in New York. And I found some of his Oscar announcing clips and I can say Les really knows how to do his stuff well with talent. I wonder why NBC or Game Show Network or CBS hasn't considered him to be an announcer for a game show in the future because Les Marshak could announce game shows easily? I do wonder how Les Marshak got to be chosen to announce Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades? Is he the newest parade announcer and how long has he announced Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades?
