In France Perrier Water made it's debut in the 1800's but quickly grew into a hot trend in the United States early on and continues to be a big seller today in water and has even added flavored waters and seltzers too. In the 1960's Perrier launched a commercial that has become one of Perrier's classic commercials and was featured in one of the broadcasts of The Clio Awards and is so funny you'll laugh. The commercial starts with a guy wanting a Perrier Water then a waiter hands it to him then as the guy tries to open it something happens and the guy works hard to open the bottle of Perrier Water then the bottle explodes into a fountain of Perrier Water. This commercial appears to be in French but there might be an English version that aired in America

Hi, Hawkee! I always called Perrier "French dirt water" because that is what it tasted like. But they were marketing geniuses! They took a terrible tasting water and actually convinced fools to think they were smart and chic for drinking it! I take my hat off to them.
