During the 1980's diet and exercise giant Richard Simmons was everywhere from informercials to workout videos to developing his own line of diet foods called Slimmons. One of the most surprising shockers was becoming a spokesman for Beautyrest in the 1980's and this commercial I found was Richard's only commercial for Beautyrest and is "I think" circa 1984-85 and is such a laugh when Richard Simmons talks about how sleeping on a Beautyrest mattress can help improve sleep. I don't know how Richard began selling mattresses but Beautyrest was smart to use him in this commercial
