Thumbs up Fantastic!!

It's great to find such a good board dedicated to Frasier. I'm probably one of the biggest fans of Frasier there is, I've seen every episode (at least I think I have) and I love it. In my opinion, it's the best American comedy ever, and the fact that its about to enter season 10 just reinforces my view ;-)

Hope to talk to someone on here soon,

Rob

Hehe, thanks!

You might see me at a couple of other boards at this site too... it's great!

I used to run a Yahoo club along the same kind of lines as this site, only I never knew so many sitcoms existed!!

so, how many think that some of the episodes this season haven't been too good? Ther have been some good ones, though. Like the one where he posed as Roz's boyfriend in front of her family. It's mostly just been the scenes with Niles & Daphnie that aren't the same. And now they're getting married!! It's still a good show, though. And, it'll probably improve next season. Last seaason was probably because of the unfortunate loss of David Angell on 9/11. He was the guiding force behind "Cheers" & "Frasier".

Yeah, I think that's very true. It'll take a while to readjust after something like that.

Thanks again everyone for all the welcomes!

Talking

Hi, nice to see another Frasier fan from the UK. I'm pretty new to the board myself, actually!

I hope we don't have to wait too long for the new series over here...

Frasier rules!

It's almost worth doing just so that I can tell the story!

Yeah it does!!!

I think that the new series of Frasier will start on the first Friday in January, like it seems to every year on Channel 4, which is great because we end up seeing the finale about a week or two after the US viewers so we don't have an agonising wait.

Question

Interesting...

How come we start so far behind but have nearly caught up with the US by the end of the season?

Because the US TV season lasts from mid September to mid May, the new episodes are sort of spread out over time. I'm not sure why exactly, but from what I gather sometimes there are no new episodes for two or three weeks. Instead of showing a new episode every week, they show a rerun instead. That's compared to the UK, where there is a new episode shown every week for 24 weeks or whatever. Although towards the end of the season last year Channel 4 starting showing double bills so the season only took 18 weeks to get through instead of the usual 24.

At least that's what I've been told... I've never quite understood why it works like that though!

Red face

Yeah, those double bills were cool!

And it's impressive how quickly Channel 4 (not being a digital or satellite channel) is able to get hold of Frasier - if you compare that to other american imports like Friends.

...How on earth do Frasier fans in the US cope waiting 2 or 3 weeks for a new episode? I know I wouldn't!

Can anyone shed any light on why new episodes aren't shown weekly? Is it to do with the filming?

Hear hear! I can barely stand waiting one Friday night to the next!

I hope Channel 4 don't stick the new series of Frasier on E4 before C4 - that would be very wrong! They've done it with a lot of the shows they import though, like The Secret Life Of Us and Six Feet Under... but to be honest I can't see it happening with Frasier.

Roll on January!
