If you liked the "Truman Show" (Paramount, 1998, directed by "Witness" director Peter Weir), with Jim Carrey, then you should see "The Godfather"'s Al Pacino's latest effort, by "Truman" creator (NO, I DON'T mean Christoff or Ed Harris who played him or Weir), Andrew Niccol, written produced and directed by him, titled "Simone", (New Line) starring Canadian Model Rachel Robert alias Simone as "herself".

Catherine Keener, teenager Evan Rachel Wood, and Jay Mohr ("Pay it Forward") costar in this comic satire which has Winona Ryder briefly.

WInona plays a hard to hand screen diva whose latest project's uncompleted, so director Viktor (sic) (forgot his name, some Polish last name) (Al Pacino) creates from a sinister man's gift to him-a computer floppy disc program-a comupter girl! "Simone" becomes the latest Spice Girl but she eventually makes life a living hell for our poor hero. It's been out a few weeks but just this Friday arrived here in Whittier, California. Simone lives in a real world even though she is basically fake, the opossite of writer,director and producer Andrew Niccol's Jim Carrey vehicle "Truman Show" had Jim Carrey as a real guy in a fake world. Eventually several ploys come up by our pal to keep his life intact. There's a suprrise happy ending and post-credit tag "a la Spy Kids and Austin Powers" series, engineered by the hero's teenaged daughter and his estranged and now newly married to him, I presume, wife! ALso has Pruitt (forgot last name,some guy I'm not familiar with) as tabloid journalist.
