Target closing 9 stores, including Harlem location, due to theft and violence
>>>A Bronx man who boasted of regularly stealing from the E. 117th store said the move “sucks.” “It’s a great place to boost,” said the confessed thief, who would only give his name as Leo. The 30-year-old claimed he steals only what he “needs,” admitting most of his apartment is furnished with merchandise he swiped from Target. “It’s a way for underprivileged people who have no other way to make money to make money,” Leo argued. “We don’t steal from people, we steal from corporations.<<< |

A morally bankrupt jackoff. How many people's lives will be adversely affected, including "underprivileged people," due to his selfish criminal behavior. He won't need to worry about displaying swiped 'furnishings' when he's sitting in a jail cell where he belongs.
There are plenty of agencies that help needy people who are HONEST and willing to work. |

Oh I'm hearing about a smash grab job recently by 2 younger white people and they took off with a load of stuff and one gal left her phone behind and went back for it and the store people said, give back the stuff you stole and you can have the phone, the 2 proceeded to beat up the store clerks and one clerk was pregnant. Our society is powerfully ruthless. .

That's right, losses have that impact, and it has the greatest negative effect on those who can least afford the impact.
Also, retailers have invested $$$$ in real property, buildings & merchandising, maintenance, utilities, hiring, training, wages, and employee benefits. All of that expense will find its way down to consumers nationwide when store closings wipe out their investment in certain communities. Corporations that own retailers like Dayton-Hudson have done much toward providing the means of this country's growth within its economic model, providing careers and wages and purchasing from manufacturers of all sizes. Yet they're dissed as "evil" and people like the shoplifter will use any means to damage them. |
