Default Does anyone have the RERUN print of the Lucy Desi Comedy Hour episode…

…”Lucy Goes To Sun Valley”?

The reason why I am asking this because in my I Love Lucy 50 Years of Laughter Book”, it says this. Here’s the proof:

Hi there, I have these episodes of this show if you need them. It would appear they are copies of the bought set of these.

The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour: Lucy Takes a Cruise to Havana 1957 (Ann Sothern as Susie McNamara, Cesar Romero, Rudy Vallee, Hedda Hopper, Frank Nelson).
The Celebrity Next Door 1957 (Tallulah Bankhead, Richard Deacon).
Lucy Hunts Uranium 1958 (Fred MacMurray, June Haver, Charles Lane).
Lucy Wins a Racehorse 1958 (Betty Grable, Harry James).
Lucy Goes to Sun Valley 1958 (Fernando Lamas).
Lucy Goes to Mexico 1958 (Maurice Chevalier, Charles Lane).

I'm actually a fan of the hour-long episodes but no one seems to agree with me. I have the DVD of all 13 that they put out as I LOVE LUCY seasons 7-9. There definitely is bad editing that comes to shine in the Tallulah episode as an important plot-point is about her remarks being allergic to strawberries that comes to fruition during the last section. Pitiful. I got rid of my DVD player 2 years ago and was glad when Catchy-Comedy ran all 13 months ago and I recored 3 but wish they would show them on weekends!

I like the hour-long episodes, except the one with Ann Sothern. If I recall correctly it conflicts with the original ILL show, which I think also detailed how the Ricardos met, and it was a totally different story. I could be wrong about that.

The ones with Tallulah Bankhead and the Williamses from The Danny Thomas Show were particularly funny.

Another comment, this time about the editing: I read somewhere that when the hour long episodes were edited into the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour after their original airings, the episodes were edited, and the complete original airings were lost, except for some reason they were able to resurrect the complete first episode with Ann Sothern.

By a wide margin, my absolute favorite of the hour long episodes is the one with Fred MacMurray where they all go out in the Nevada desert looking for Uranium. The DVD set from CBS video includes a few deleted scenes from this episode as a bonus feature.

One of the themes of I Love Lucy is when Lucy (and sometimes the Mertzes) does something that makes you feel bad for Ricky.

On the LDCH, there are only a few episodes where you feel bad for Ricky.

I emailed the YouTube poster Rick Nineg about how he found this scene. He said it’s on the bonus features of the DVD release. I said I have the 2007 dvd release and it’s not on there. He replied that it may be an older release that is on. I even showed him proof that it’s not on there.

Is it on their 2005 dvd release entitled Seasons 7, 8, 9? If so, why would it be edited out future rereleases. Makes NO sense.

I bought the 2005 dvd box set of the Lucy Desi comedy Hour and it DOES have the footage of Lucy & Ricky decorating the tree from the repeat showing of Lucy Goes To Sun Valley but I’d doesn’t have the footage of Little Ricky reading a XMas poem which makes me believe that the above image of the book is inaccurate that footage was made of Little Ricky reading a XMas poem unless the footage was damaged.
