In the helens past episode mrs pendleton walks into wally gas station, but she doesn't seem to get out of a car and considering the station is in the middle of nowhere that one heck of a walk.

We see in a later episode Wally's isn't as far away as we thought, close enough for Opie to run to it from his yard in just a few seconds.
