This is my least favorite episode. There are other episodes I don't care for like the recycled scripts like Macho Man and Look What I Found. However this episode is horrible. Its the first episode in season 7 when the writers were getting short on ideas. Janet asks Jack to be a chaperone for one of her handsy bosses. Jack gets drunk and turns into a jerk. When we see Jack drunk in other episodes like when Larry gets married or Up In the Air, he's a funny drunk. But this episode he had nowhere to take drunken antics so he is just a jerk. Not only does he ditch Janet when she needed him but he goes to Janet's bed and wont get up. Then he break's a vase that was from Janet's grandmother. Nothing funny about a mean drunk IMHO. I can take recycled scripts and poorly written ones. But I don't want to see Jack a drunken jerk. You just want to punch him. A funny drunk yes, a mean drunk no.
Everyone must have agreed with me because when this episode debuted it was the last time Threes Company had the #1 show for the week. It was a sign the show was out of gas. |

I never thought it was that bad. "Up in the air" was nice but the dance routine was just too long. In "A night not to remember", it's the right length and Jack is still funny ("I won't go to bed unless you let me seeeee iiiiiiittttttttttttttt!"

I thought the writers broke Jack's character. They had already established that when Jack drinks that he becomes silly, not belligerent. They made him very unlikeable in this episode.

Season 7 is my least favorite of the series and I thought that "A Night Not to Remember" was one of the good episodes that season.
My top 3 season 7 episodes are 1) Diamond Jack 2) Breaking Up is Hard To Do 3) A Night Not to Remember I wasn't a fan of the Jack's Bistro episodes and there were too many this season for my liking. |

Ok Jack is drunk ha ha ha Janet is mad What can Jack do? Lets have him break a sentimental vase. Jack passes out in Janet's bed and he wakes up thinking they slept together. Was this not the recycled Roper script when Stanely got drunk and passed out in Jack's bed? Just lame! |

I would say this episode broke Jack's character like Hair today gone tomorrow broke Terri's character. Terri was a smart nurse who moved in and made it clear she did not go for any hanky panky in the apartment. Jack puts on a fake mustache and she falls in love and is all over Jack like she was hypnotized.

Actually- about Terri, when she first moved in she told Janet that she was okay if her and Jack had something going on.
This was in the first half hour Terri episode after Terri's 2 part introduction. This was the episode where Larry told Terri a lie about Jack to get Terri to come on to Jack. Janet notices Terri being overly friendly to Jack, but can't come out to confront her. Then at the end of the season when Terri learns Jack & Janet are on a date (via computer) she is really upset. There was a drastic ratings drop between Season 7 & Season 8. |

I thought the episode had some funny bits such as Mr. Furley always misinterpreting the conversation between Jack and Larry in the kitchen.
An interesting thing I noticed is that this episode features the last instance of any scenes taking place in the bathroom for the series duration. |
