I recently watched the episode, "The Life And Love Of Joe Coogan" again. I have it on VHS, and I had to go back to it because there's something that nags at me.
Rob came home and told Laura he'd bumped into Coogan on the golf course. She admitted she'd saved his sonnets. That disturbed Rob, although I think I understand her motives just fine. Women are sentimental that way. Fond memories are cherished through keepsakes. But what I don't understand is why she took Millie's advice and went to the clubhouse to see him in person? It seemed so unlike her. What was her motive for that? |

Kristen's exlaination is quite close
Its so difficult to explain to a male how a womans mind works! I think those sonnets, once brought back around to her attention, brought back feelings she wondered were "real" or not, questioning her marriage to Rob. Like this...if Laura loved the man that wrote those beautiful sonnets so much, then how could she *truly* love Rob and then she would realize she made a horrible mistake. What a relief for Laura to find that the person he spoke of was God and his love for Him and not her, clearing it all up that what she felt was a mere "crush" because of the sonnets and thats *all* it was and she truly did *love* Rob and the other was onyl a crush. Now, if you can understand that the way I've explained it, you just earned a gold star LOL!
