Do you think the series would have turned out better if Diane had never left Cheers/ The Show? Or would it have been worse than the Rebecca years which BTW were not bad at all.?

I wish Diane had stayed on to the end. Rebecca bored me. I think the show lost a lot when Diane departed.

The show definitely lost something when Diane left. However, I don't think the show would've lasted as long if Shelley stayed on board.

I think you're right about this. It would have been difficult to sustain the Sam and Diane magic for all those years. Also, as pointed out on this board before, her departure allowed other cast members to expand their roles.
I think Kirstie was a bad casting decision. I also think the producers should have realized this and cast someone else. It wouldn't be the first time this was done.

I agree also, I think that having 11 seasons of just Sam and Diane would start to get a bit tedious. I mean I love Diane but It wouldnt be the same, it wouldnt put the TV watcher on the enje of there seat, people wouldnt want to watch it anymore becuase, by then Diane and Sam would never admit there true feelings or if they got married then It wouldnt be interesting either...I dont know its just my opinoin.

I agree with that too. If Sam and Diane would have gotten married, it wouldn't have been the same. Plus, I thought Kirstie Alley was great as Rebecca...

I think that rebecca was a good replacement...I can't imagine 11 years of diane, it was time for a change imo.

Diane bothered me *Shelley fans, don't take it personally, lately it seems that EVERYTHING bthers me* and Kirstie Alley RULES. Case closed.

Anyways, if Diane had stayed, Frasier wouldn't have been on as much cos he would still like her or something, you know?

I think that the show wouldnt have been as good if Diane had stayed there. The Sam and Diane relationship had run it's course and if they would have gotten married the show wouldnt have lasted as long as it did.
