Why did Willona call Michael (Gramps)? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I think I missed something because i never knew why Willona called Michael, Gramps instead of Michael. Actually, she was the only cast member who never called him by his first name-it was always "Gramps" I just need to know why.

She called him that because she said he looked like an old man. I can't remember the episode but if I remember or see it I'll post.

Yeah I think I missed that episode-I always wanted toknow why she was calling him that. Well the first season of Goodtimes will be shown again on TBS in another two weeks-so i will keep a close eye out for that episode.

I'm taking a guess but I guess since Michael was so smart,educated & really had an old soul. He had the wisdom of an old man & I'm guessing that's why Willona called him gramps.

What time does Good Times come on TBS? Also, in my family (a hispanic family by the way) we had a family friend that we referred to as "gramps". We called him that since the late 60's and lord knows why we call him that. No one in my family has an answer, we just do. A term of endearment??? I like it though. I liked it when Willona called him that.

Good Times doesn't air on TBS anymore. This thread is 3 years old and GT aired on TBS in 2002. TBS edits were worst than TV LAND-lol

Right you are. I was going to say, I get TBS and I don't see Good times on the schedule. Brian responded to the thread and I just responded to Brian, I didn't realize the thread was originally 3 yrs old. oooooops. sorry.

The reason why I revived this thread, is because I was going to start a thread about why Willona called Michael "Gramps'? I just wanted to make sure nobody posted it and I stumbled upon this thread.
