Sad Bob Barker (1923 - 2023)

https://www.kron4.com/news/national/...-dies-aged-99/

(KTLA) — Bob Barker, the longtime host of the gameshow “The Price is Right,” has died at the age of 99, according to reports.

Details on his cause of death or surrounding circumstances were not immediately available.

Barker, a staunch animal rights activist, retired from hosting “The Price is Right” after 50 years on TV in 2007.

This is a developing story.

Not as close to 100 as Betty White got, but now I'm sorry he didn't live that long.

Oh No

The 99 Club is growing...here's who is in "The 99 Club"...

Bob Barker
Betty White
Billy Graham
Carl Barks
Ernest Angely
Hugh Downes
June Foray
Larry Storch
Prince Philip
Zsa Zsa Gabor

It's sure surpassing "The 27 Club"...I won't doubt Mick Jagger and Keith Richards will join "The 99 Club"!

I thought the same thing. 100 is a scary milestone. Once a person hits 100, there's no pretending you may have another decade or two left. Death could come any day. I think people somehow "will" themselves to die so they don't have to deal with the stress of being 100 and wondering each and every day if It's the last or bitterly realizing how fleeting life can be.

George Burns and Bob Hope made it to 100 only to die shortly after.

Dying at 99 is totally natural though, unlike dying at 27.

Most people remember him from TPIR, but I remember him on Truth or Consequences.

Rest in Peace.

I’m shocked that Bob Barker has just passed; he is now up here with 2 of his regular TPIR announcers(Johnny Olson & Rod Roddy) along with the some of his fellow legendary game show hosts who have left before him (Bill Cullen, Alex Trebek, Jim Perry, Dick Clark, Gene Rayburn, Jim Lange, Jack Narz, Tom Kennedy, Richard Dawson, Allen Ludden, Garry Moore, Monty Hall, Jack Barry, Ray Combs, Geoff Edwards, Peter Tomarken & Bert Convy). Thoughts go out to Drew Carey(Barker’s TPIR successor) and the colleagues[on camera & off camera] who have worked during Bob’s 35 year tenure as TPIR Host.

So do I. He was great on that show.
