Default Battle Of The Million Dollar Game Show craze Greed Vs Millionaire

During the 2000's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire debuted it's second season in 2000 after debuting with success and the most watched show on ABC in 1999. But while Regis was the shining star of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire little did we know that soon Regis Philbin would have competition when FOX announced the launch of Greed The Multi-Million-Dollar Bonus "Greed The Series" and debuting at the same time "the same week" as Who Wants To Be Millionaire's Season 2 Premiere week on FOX. Many people thought that Greed would soon knock Millionaire from the ratings and hit a home run for FOX. But in my mind why Greed became a smash hit was because Chuck Woolery had become a Comeback Kid with this show and while Millionaire had "Is That Your Final Answer" as it's catchphrase Greed had simply "Do You Feel The Need For Greed" as it's catchphrase too. And I remember hearing so much about Greed from my aunt who told me all about Greed and I saw an episode of Greed myself with my mom and what I thought of Greed was it wasn't what my aunt told me about at first because the gameplay of Greed reminded me of Family Feud without the survey board and the Fast Money Round and the other thing I disliked of Greed was the Terminator round used sound effects straight out of a Marvel movie and why every time the Terminator would pick a contestant Chuck Woolery would always say something like "Hawkee The Terminator has Chosen You" and if I was playing Greed and Chuck Woolery told me this I would just not play when the Terminator would choose me. So I think while Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was lots better Greed would've done better as a syndicated game show and not on FOX. But I really think what mainly caused Greed to get cancelled was because of too many changes and changing the gameplay and adding theme weeks like Super Greed and 70's Greed. I can see why ABC was quick to earn more success with Millionaire and FOX had hoped to do the same with Greed but it wasn't meant to be

As I mentioned in my opening post on this thread I think FOX really wanted to make Greed be a smash hit game show to compete with ABC and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire because when you get the general picture game shows were rare to see at night and the only game show that had a nighttime version was The Price Is Right and since people watched sitcoms and dramas during the night game shows shown at night would start becoming a huge fad again. But what really caused Greed's death was when they removed some parts in the last season that really caused the ratings to go downhill and the show to also go downhill as well such as removing the beginning Qualifying Question that determined who would be captain of the team and who would be chosen to play. Because that's what made Greed what it was and it was simple. But at least it scored a million dollar champion with Curtis Ward and a team that won 2 million dollar prize and I think FOX was eager to have a million dollar champion on Greed so Greed could compete with John Carpenter's famous win on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on ABC. But I think FOX was also trying to make Chuck Woolery be like Regis Philbin by having Chuck be the star of Greed and had hoped to make him a Comeback Kid to game shows which Chuck Woolery worked his magic later with GSN's Lingo. But I think Greed could've lasted much longer for FOX because it simply great to watch and I wonder why FOX never has had another game show like Greed since?
