I personally enjoy the Home/Family Sitcoms the best. There's something heartwarming about Home/Family related sitcoms.

I don't think I really have a favorite category. I like ALF, Mr. Ed, The Munsters, Gilligan's Island, Seinfeld, Leave it to Beaver, The Andy Griffith Show and others.

The wittier American sitcoms: Andy Griffith Show, Dick van Dyke Show, That Girl, Odd Couple, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Bob Newhart Show, Barney Miller, WKRP in Cincinnati, Taxi, Cheers, Newhart, Night Court, Wings, Frasier, and Everybody Loves Raymond. The creative people on these shows moved from one to another over about 45 years.
