Default 9-11 Memorial Coverage... O/T

I know this is , but I'm curious if anyone knows how to find the multiple pieces dedicated to 9-11. I have to do some research for one my my history classes, and I could use some of that stuff.

Pav, any suggestions??

I'm not quite sure what it is that you are asking. Are you wanting to know about special programming on the various channels? I know that lots are scheduled; some programming is already in progress.

I have a list of sorts at home, but can't get to it until this evening, if that's what you're after.

Somewhat... I need more "personal" accounts, not just news reviews. Like, Larry King will have Lisa Beamer on 9/11, plus others. I'd like to see something like "NYC a year later" or just how people are still thinking about it...

I know it's hard to define, but it's a hard assignment...

Okay, this is a quick look at what I know as of August 13. Of course all the networks will have their news and "newsy" programming, but may also have other specials in the works. Try seeing if any online sites have a listing.

Anyway, some of the more personal items:

ABC Family
Portraits in Hope, a series of 30-second interstitials (I don't know what that is; it may be a misspelling.), will begin airing on 9/1 and continue through 9/11. On 9/8, Love’s Legacy: The Babies airs, profiling the women pregnant on 9/11 who lost their husbands in the attacks.

CNN (9/11/02)
Continued live coverage of the day’s events begins at 6a ET. They will air 30 in-depth reports that will focus on moving forward.

MTV
Starting September 10, MTV will air 31 hours of music videos interspersed with artists’ reflections on the events of 9/11.

The History Channel
THC will air documentaries focused on the events and issues surrounding the attacks.

The Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, and TLC
Discovery Communications Networks will run regularly scheduled programming in daytime, afternoon and fringe. They will be airing specials and documentaries focused on the events of and surrounding 9/11 beginning 9/2.

Live Events Scheduled for 9/11 in New York (ET)
8a Bagpipe procession from all five boroughs of NYC to WTC site
8:46a Memorial Service begins at WTC Site with a Moment of Silence
Eulogy
Reading of the Gettysburg Address
Names of those killed on 9/11 read by Rudy Giuliani
Reading of the Declaration of Independence
10:29a Conclusion – Bell toll
Procession of victims’ families to WTC site
President Bush to visit site
Sunset Eternal flame lit
Theodore Roosevelt reading
Candlelight vigil throughout all five boroughs

Note: All schedules are as of 8/13/02 and are subject to change

I see in my TV Guide that this one has been moved to Wednesday, Sept. 11.

I also see lots and lots of other "personal" programming, so you might want to take a close look at your local area TV Guide.

It's all so fascinating... how people are acknowledged and such.

God Bless America...

This isn't gonna help, but TVLand has been airing a retromercial about New York and the people say "I Love New York!!." I think that was pretty clever of them. Oh yeah, I know for a fact that ABC has took off ALL of their daytime programming for commemoration, including their soap operas.
