Default FETV Fall 2023 Schedule (Starts August 28th)

What's New: Quincy M.E.

What's Leaving: Mannix

Get TV isn't the only company to get their hands on Quincy after Cozi's contract expired in June. Quincy is a great show but its bittersweet it will be replacing Mannix. Other changes include more Perry Mason (blah), and a repeat of the John Wayne movie matinee on Monday mornings.

Another bit of interesting news to share, is that FETV press release for Quincy states that this channel is in America's Top 40 during the primetime hours of 7pm - 12am midnight.

So it seems to imply that Perry Mason in particular is doing very good since the 8 -10pm hours never changed. It's always been Perry at that timeslot. Kinda gives you an insight on how other retro channels approach their lineups.

Why the F do they still have 4 damn episodes of Perry Mason on weekdays? If it does better in the evening time why not just take off the afternoon showings instead of wearing the show out?

I’m glad to see Quincy joining, but Mannix having to leave the lineup for it just astonishes me. That show must have not done well.

Also, I’ve said this before, but they need more sitcoms. They just keep adding more and more westerns and dramas and they remove more and more sitcoms. After a while, they can change the name of this channel to the “Westerns and Perry Mason Channel”. Add shows like Archie Bunker’s Place, Petticoat Junction, Good Times, The Lucy Show, etc. They could also bring back The Mary Tyler Moore Show, I don’t think they gave that show a proper chance.

Lastly, if they’re going to run westerns, why not more interesting westerns? Rawhide in the afternoons?? Really? And The Lone Ranger is a last resort for channels that couldn’t acquire all the TV shows they wanted to. What about introducing westerns like Laramie, Death Valley Days, The Big Valley? Bring back The Roy Rogers Show, it was way better than The Lone Ranger. I’m pretty sure they could probably air the 30 minute Gunsmoke episodes as well. Gunsmoke is reran to death, but at least it’s more interesting than RAWHIDE of all shows.

Not trying to nitpick way too much, but FeTV is pretty much TV Land’s second cousin. It went from a channel for people of various ages to a local station-like channel geared towards the elderly grannies who drink prune juice all day and make their grandchildren write letters whenever they come over to visit to teach them about the “good ol’ days”.

Mannix was on the channel for about 2 years. It was taken off before as well and then brought back. Maybe they will do it again.

They're competing with MeTV and INSP I feel like. It went from sitcoms/action shows in the afternoon to back to Westerns again. Plenty of shows were not given a proper chance such as Route 66, The Saint, Peter Gunn, MTM and Bob Newhart. Although the latter two shows I believe were taken off because MeTV filed some kind of cease and desist on FETV.

Exactly, its the same Westerns on 3 different channels.

It's basically less-interesting version of MeTV. Less variety despite having the potential to surpass them. More people have access to this channel than MeTV.
