Default Which way do you prefere Beaver Cleaver?

How that we are in the new house, everything seems so backwards! I keep thinking that we're int eh old house, and then when i see them go the wrong way or the direction of the camera changes i remember. But when the later episodes we on, i actually loved beaver being older (but i hadn't seen very many eps when he was younger) and then when he got younger i was like, "man, i don't wanna see him when he was younger" and then i REALLY got into him being younger, and i loved almost every episodes of season 2. But what do you think? Older or Younger? I cannot quite decide, i think i like him younger and wally older. Well, we'll see for me when the older beaver comes around. Let me know what you think!

I liked all of the episodes. It was one of the few shows that actually stayed good throughout the series. Also maybe it's just me, but I fell that in the later episodes the shows became more and more about Wally and his buddies, instead of Beaver and his buddies. Nowadays they would ahve a spinoff of that where Wally, Lumpy, Eddie go to college. Hmmmmm, that might not have been that bad of an idea......

I think I like Beaver when he was younger, but I didn't mind Wally older or younger. I like Wally at both sets of ages.

While 80% of the episodes are classics or near classics, I prefer the older Beaver over the younger Beaver. Maybe it's because I saw the older Beaver as being more "empathetic" and he could identify with the problems and situations associated with real teenagers growing up in that time period. The shows that were best, dealt with sensitive issues and realistic methods of parent-child interaction. I think Jerry was pretty cool as a teen and like the second to last and last season the best because Beaver's personality was more "developed"

The early episodes are very very good, but Beaver IMO was mostly just there in the first season to be "cute" and the sitcom situation was more reactive to Beaver doing "cute" things and June babying him like a Mother Hen (a bit too much IMO) As Beaver matured, the series became more active to Beaver's feelings and personality. He had real teen issues and was more apt to speak his mind, with a sense of humer and wit that I found very mature for a 13-14 year old kid Those were Beaver's greatest years.

Very well written and well-thought-out post by Jack1000, but I must disagree. I find the older Beaver to be quite obnoxious and negative, as if he had grown up emulating Eddie more than Wally. His personality was more developed, as Jack said, but I think it developed in the wrong direction.

I love Beaver at any age! But I guess if I had to choose, I would have to say when he was younger because he's so cute! I saw a little kid at the movies a couple of weeks ago that I swear looked EXATLY like the young beaver! I mean the spittin' image! I was shocked! He was so adorable! He was 7 years old and he had on a baseball cap. I have never seen anyone look so much like someone else. My friend told his mom how the boy reminded her of Beaver and she said that people tell them that all the time.

I liked Beaver when he was really young. As for Wally, it does matter-- he got CUTE!
