Hey there Happy Days fans!
My name is Jeff Koch, and I work for Playing Mantis, maker of Johnny Lightning diecast cars. We're looking at making a line of Happy Days-related vehicles in 1/64 scale (about 3 inches long), and I was hoping to enlist your help. Other than Fonzie's bike (the make and model of which elude me) and a T-bucket I recall seeing in the opening credits of some seasons ... I cannot recall anything. I also vaguely remember Mr. C talking about his Hudson (Or was it a DeSoto?) fondly, but don't know if we ever got to see it. I recall a demolition derby episode as well, unless I'm dreaming. Clearly my memory on this is spotty, so I'm turning to the experts. What cars were visible in particular episodes of Happy Days? I don't want to go generic "period" cars, like some other larger-scale Happy Days vehicles have been--I want to make these as authentic as possible. Can anyone forward me screen grabs or positively identify cars as seen in Happy Days' ten-year run? Please help us keep the memory of Happy Days alive! Respond to this post, or you can email me directly at jkoch@playingmantis.com. My thanks in advance for your help in this endeavor! Jeff Koch Brand Manager Johnny Lightning |

Hi!
The car that you see in the opening credits is Ralph Malph's 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup. If you want to see a picture of it, you can go to http://www.sitcomsonline.com/photos/ralphsroadster.html. I think I remember seeing Mr. C's DeSoto a few times. If I recall correctly, I think his DeSoto is a darker blue color. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I don't remember Potsie having a certain car. If he did, it was probably only for one episode. Hope I helped somewhat. |

I can't remember the colors of the cars, but Howard had a 49' DeSoto, Fonzie bought a 55' Chevy ( on some of the shows they just gave the make of the car and not the model ), Richie bought a 1952 Ford convertible from Fonzie. That's all I can help with. I know there must be some experts out there somewhere.

Ok Howard Owned A 1948 DeSoto And Both Richie And Ralph Owned A 52 Ford Convertable (I'm Pretty Sure It's A 2 Door) Ralph Later Owned a '29 Ford T Bucket Pickup, Also Richie And Potsie Bought A 1950 Chevrolet Convertable, Howard Owned A 1960 Studebaker 4 Door Sedan In The 10th Season Hope That Helps! BTW HD Cars, Very Cool!
