He was the man who invented the Chia Pet and also made The Clapper a household name and became a well known commercial icon best known for the famous commercials that would become an important part of commercial history. On July 4th Joseph Pedott passed away at the age of 96. While many people own the famous Chia Pets and The Clapper Joseph Pedott will be missed by commercial fans but his namesake company Joseph Enterprises still is surviving today. I remember when my aunt gave me and my mom her Chia Pet and we still have it in the box today and I always thought Chia Pets were awesome from the commercials. I also thought The Clapper was amazing because the way you got to turn things off and on with hand motions was amazing and I sure wish I had one in my room to turn on and off my TV without reaching for my remote in the mornings. The Clapper is probably something the Marvel villain Thanos would've liked since he controlled things by snapping his fingers too. Don't you think?

Hi, Hawkee! Joseph Pedott was tuly a marketing genius! He is right up there with Ron Popeil. Is there an infomercial hall of fame? I am curious. Thank you Hawkee for reminding us of the people behind the products!
