Small blooper in Eyewitness Blues

I was watching this episode yesterday and caught something at the very end that made me laugh. This is the episode where the flower shop gets robbed and the police put them under police protection at the apartment. However there is a mix up and they confuse the robber as the police officer.
At the very end, the robber and the cop are both laying unconscious on the floor. Terri is on the phone with the police and she says "The police are on their way, they asked if you can hold them until they get here." Jack says something like "Of course" and then starts showing off and goofing with the guns. He drops one of the guns and it goes off which makes the roommates panic, giggle, and dance around.
A gun would never go off just by being dropped unless the revolver was cocked. But that is not the blooper. When Jack drops the gun it hits the floor and there is a delay before the gun goes off. Their special effects guy was a tad late for the gunshot sound. Its minor and trivial but I just thought it was funny and never noticed it before. The gun hits the floor and nothing happens and then a second later BANG!

Hmm I've seen all episodes dozens of times and never noticed that, I'll keep my ears alert next time I see it.

Its in the last seconds of the episode and you have to watch the gun hit the floor. Your eyes want to follow everyone dancing around after the gunshot. Keep your eye on the gun.

A gun going off when it's dropped seems to be a common TV trope lol I used to be terrified to even touch a gun when I was little because of that, I thought just moving one would make it go off lol

Ok so I watched the episode and yeah there is a delay of when the gun hits the floor to when you hear the noise of the gun going off.
