Default Something mind boggling about Three's Company

Remember the girl Eleanor who moved out in the first episode? I know it's just TV but why would 3 females share a two-bedroom apartment? And why would one of the girls have their own room? Doesn't make much sense to me but that's the world of TV

Maybe it used to be two girls originally? Then one moved out and Eleanor may have been the one that stayed, so she got the big room and Janet and Chrissy after moving in had to share the remaining one? *Shrug*

I have a perfect theory!

Eleanor and Janet {or Chrissy} lived there originally, and they both got a room for themselves. Then, Chrissy {or Janet} moved in, and Janet {or Chrissy} let Chrissy {or Janet} share with her. Make sense?

This would have made more sense: Chrissy and Janet had their own room until jack moved in and when Jack moved in, Chrissy or Janet decide to buy a bed to put in the other room so that Jack would have his own room. Sounds better and makes more sense.

Well i guess it makes more sense that three females would live in a two-bedroom apartment-with one having her own room-i guess eleanor was paying the most of the rent

^ That makes no sense, because you obviously messed up on what you were trying to say. For instance, you said 'Jack moved in' 2ce.

Yeah, that makes sense... they did have lots of trouble with the rent after she left.

I dont know about y'all, but the thought of sharing a room with another girl sounds terrible! (unless you happen to be a guy! )

No privacy; and you can't do things like read in bed at night or come in late without fear of waking her up... I'd rather work 2 jobs so I could have my own bedroom!

The apartment probably just came furnished like that. Maybe Eleanor moved in first so she naturally chose to have her own room. The two other beds allowed for two more roomies.
I really don't think there was any official theory for that: they did it that way b/c it would have to work like that for when Jack moved in. I wouldn't get all bent out of shape trying to come up with a reason for it.

The only reason I thought about it because N@N showed the pilot last night and i just thought it was weird for 3 women to share a 2 bedroom apt.

Yes, the room was furnished. I remember in the second season episode "Jack's Navy Pal" Mr. Roper makes them pay for the furniture. If they owned hte furniture, then they wouldn't have had to do that.
