Question Two characters, one actor...

I just noticed while watching some of the last two seasons...

The man who played piano at the Rusty Anchor when Dorothy sang was also the man in charge of Rose and Myles doing their skydive.

I'm sure there were other actors who reappeared on the show. Anyone help me out?

When I first saw this post, I thought it was another two characters, one actor you were talking about. This one I just noticed recently.

I saw Fiddler on the Roof, for the first time in a long time. That is the episode where Sophia buys a boxer. The actor who played that boxer is the same actor who appeared as Enrique (sp) Moss,
Rose's boss, when she went to work testing consumer products.

Sophia's husband, Sal is played by the same guy as Don, Dorothy and her date's "Fool for the evening" at that resturaunt (It's the one where the guy who stood Dorothy up for prom comes back, I can't remember the guy's name right now.)

I've never noticed that one, Kristen...

We can't forget Harold Gould, who played Myles Webber and Arnie, a date Rose went out with early in the series. So, he counts too!!

Also, in one of the "memory" episodes, there is a hair dresser who makes Blanche, Rose and Dorothy look like ugly poodles. He is the same guy who played the soap actor that visited Miami and "acted" with the girls, plus others in the play.

There seems to be a lot of repeat performers on this show...

The actor that portrayed Kid Pepe, the boxer that Sophia "bought" also portrayed Rose's boss Enrique Mas. The actress that played mean-old Frida Klaxton, the nasty neighbour who didn't care if the tree was cut down in her yard, also played Philhamena, who thought that she was Dorothy's mother in the "switched-at-birth" episode. The same actress also played Sophia's friend who wanted to commit suicide and the elderly lady on the run that Rose befriended at the bus station on her way home to St. Olaf on Mother's Day. There are more that I'm sure I will think of later!!!

I caught another one today...

There was a flashback episode that told a story of Rose placing a "work" ad for Dorothy in the Personals column. One of the first respondants was Toto ("Oh, no mister -- just Toto. You're Dorothy, and I'm Toto" )

Well, he also appeared in an episode that aired today -- I think as a repairman or surveyor. I was just waking up when it came on, so I don't know exactly. I'm in the process of taping episodes, so I'll rewatch and post.

I caught another one last week, but knowing just internet basics, didn't know how to bring this thread up.

In one of the very last episodes of the series, Dorothy gets a job by a former student as a motivational speaker.

There is a chinese actor in that episode, the same actor who played the doctor who diagnosed Dorothy with chronic fatigue.

I have two more.

Bill Dana, the actor who played Angelo, played Sophia's father in the valentines day episode.

Also this one isn't so obvious. One of the three men from the Vacation episode, where they the 3 girls get stranded with them. The blond one, was also Dorthy's old student in Rose: Portrait of a Woman.

I caught another one...

The man who played "Toto" when Dorothy was looking for a job also played the plumber in the episode where Dorothy and Rose install the toilet.

I guess that if you guest starred on the show once, you were automatically invited back for a second role!

The guy who played Blanche's husband George in her dream also played his brother Jamie.

In the episode where Rose has to give a eulogy and is afraid of public speaking, so Blanche and Dorothy go with her on an airplane to the Bahamas, there is an older stewardess.

That actress is the same actress who played the mother of Jerry ? Kennedy, Blanche's date who lived with his mother.

Actor Paul Dooley playes Isaac, Q. Newton in the episode "Love Rose", then he plays Geroge Corliss in the episode "Empty Nests".

The actress I posted about two post ago, I saw her again.

Her biggest role was when she played the mother of Blanche's date who lived with his mother. That was in year 7.

The other two episodes are from year 3.

In the episode with the overweight Rebecca, Sophia & her coworkers confront their teenage boss. This actress, Meg Wylie, was one of Sophia's coworkers. And not long before that episode, she played a stewardess.
