Yesterday's show on WGN had Charles liking the girl in the play who did not want Buddy acting along with her. In the end, Charles sees how greedy and mean she is so he dumps her.

This is one of the first shows with this theme but unfortunately, it's a theme that they will do 40 other shows about over the next 3 seasons!!!

Good observation! I think the Powell scripts were generally weaker because the family was not as strong as the Pembrokes so they had to make up for it by recycling plots. 22 Pembrokes shows and 104 Powell shows..oh what could have been
