I often wondered why Phoebe Snow's original version of A Different World's theme song was replaced by Aretha Franklin's version? Because Phoebe's version was folky and nice but I don't know why Aretha Franklin was chosen to sing the A Different World theme song because she turned it into an upbeat version. Was Aretha Franklin offered more money to sing it or did Phoebe Snow chose to no longer do the theme song?
