Is it me, or does Spankee Rodgers (Bobby Wilson) remind you of a young T.K. Carter?

At the beginning of Saved By The Bell: The New Class' second season premiere ("The Return Of Screech") in the autumn of 1994, viewers were introduced to three new students at Bayside: clothes horse Rachel Myers (Sarah Lancaster), Swiss foreign exchange student Brian Keller (Christian Oliver), and nerdy but still levelheaded Bobby Wilson (Spankee Rodgers); Lancaster, of course, had actually made her debut as Rachel the previous season in the episode "Swap Meet."

Bobby served as a replacement--so to speak--for resident nerd and computer geek (and Blossom aficionado) Barton "Weasel" Wyzell (Isaac Lidsky), who had been terminated after season one along with his fellow classmates Scott Erickson (Robert Sutherland Telfer) and Vicki Needleman (Bonnie Russavage).

As I was re-watching that aforementioned season online, I quickly noted how Bobby was almost similar to T.K. Carter's character from Good Morning, Miss Bliss (the forerunner to SBTB, of course), maintenance supervisor Mylo Williams. Both Bobby and Mylo were upbeat and cheerful in appearance; in fact, I've theorized that the two characters were both related somehow, possibly as father and son.

Sadly, Spankee Rodgers' portrayal of Bobby proved to be short-lived, and he (as well as his character)--along with Bianca Lawson (Megan Jones) and Christian Oliver--was jettisoned from The New Class at season's end.
