Was Carrie Underwood trying to also become a pop artist on the Some Hearts album?
When Carrie Underwood became the American Idol winner of 2004 and when she released her debut album Some Hearts I noticed that she was given the same style as Kelly Clarkson did on the Thankful album by having part country and part pop ballads on her debut and I think they originally were gonna make Carrie Underwood a pop singer but made her a country star instead. Because if you listen to the title song Some Hearts it's a pop ballad with a rock sound but on Carrie's second album Carnival Ride it's an all country album. I think Carrie Underwood was gonna be like Olivia-Newton John when she first started out with this album but Carrie did all-country on her second album because that's what sold well
