He's retired from television and lives in California with his wife and daughter.

Ah...my expertise!!

Richard is "semi-retired" and living happily (I hope anyway) in Beverly Hills with his wife and daughter. Many think he's doing what Johnny Carson is and just retiring from the business of nostalgia (in other words, not doing interviews, writing auto-bios, etc.)

I put "semi-retired" in quotes because frankly I'm not sure if he's semi or not. I'm crossing my fingers for no.

As if you couldn't tell, I'm one of the man's biggest fans.

You didn't miss much on the hatchet job that E! did on "Family Feud". Is it just me or does the "E!True Hollywood Story" purposely dramatize scandal and gossip and pass it off as the truth? The show should have been called "The Richard Dawson personal attack 2-hour extraveganza". The sad thing is that all these people talking about his ego problem and all of that like this is something new in Hollywood!?! When you consider the crap that Dawson had to put up with from ABC and the sponsors over his satire and contestant kissing not to mention all the praise his show got from the press and the ratings giant it was, it's hard not to get a little egotistical when you know that you're the reason people are watching "Family Feud". The producer said that the show was the star and Dawson was a host but how long was the show in production without Dawson? Ray Combs had it from 1988-1994 and it was COMBS that drawn people to it. What about Louie Anderson's tenure? Nobody was drawn to him and the show was a ratings disaster. Richard Karn? Time will tell if he has the magic that Dawson and Combs had. Richard lives with his wife and daughter and avoids television...although he's appeared on Game Show Network's various feud marathons giving insight to the shows.

Ugh. I agree. Someone like A&E would have done more with this as far as truth is concerned. Besides, E! had to interview that $@#%& SOB Howard Felsher. He'd piss anyone off.

MY POINT EXACTLY!!!!! Sure, he was the first egotist.

Yeah, that's BS. Felsher's just jealous.

Besides, who'd they replace Combs with? Some random guy? No...RICHARD DAWSON!!

The last thing I remember Richard Dawson doing was narrating "The Most Outrageous Moments in Game Shows." on FOX.
