Don't know if this is the correct location to post this- So mod's if not please move to correct location- Bottom line with ATSC 3.0 on the horizon they want to encrypt local OTA broadcasts via DRM.
i have attached links from LonTV and Tyler the Antenna Man to explain more as well as the link to sign the petition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkQdDZYYeQA&t=21s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nUN5nKvLCc&t=91s https://www.change.org/p/tell-the-fc...3-0-broadcasts |

I have been following this, but until it officially becomes the standard (government rebates for tuners and standards televisions with the tech built in), it is hard to get the mass majority of people to take notice or even care enough about this issue.

Yes, you are so right, until if personally effects the individual than they take notice (And if this does go through, it will be too late)- So I put the word out there, some stations ae already converting to 3.0 DRM, Go to Rabbitears.info for the current list of DRM enabled stations. This reminds me like when the digital coversion happened, but this time there has been no mention of rebates offered, and you will have to get a ATSC 3.0 decoder added to your existing TV, (Correct me if that is not the case) |

If it comes to pass, based on a court decision in the early 2000s, it will probably get tied up in legal fights for years. And it'll probably get an order blocking it once lawyers get involved.
