Today Alexandra Moltke's last episode as Victoria Winters aired. She had recently found out she was pregnent (she had a child on June 27, 1969 named Adam - - and it was on the 3rd anniversary of the premire of DS!), and had been let go from her contract. Alexandra had been displeased with the show for quite awhile, dissing the Adam storyline in a Saturday Evening Post article ("Victoria is so dumb," she said with a grimace. "All I do is stand around saying, 'I don't understand what's happening.' Jonathan has hypnotized me into eloping with him, tried to cut off my boyfriend's head to stick on that goofy monster they made, even sent me hundreds of years into the past during a séance. And I still haven't figured out that he may not quite be normal."). Alexandra had also recently gotten married to Phillip Isles with whom she had her child Adam with, and Nancy Barrett (Carolyn) was her bridesmaid.

Alexandra, after being let go, was replaced by Betsy Durkin, who is norturious for being the worst replacement on DS ever. She was let go after 10 episodes because she just wasn't working out with the show. They originally planned on making Betsy a full time cast member. They replaced her with Carolyn Groves for a 'return to 1796' ministoryline that lasted two weeks. Carolyn did a far better job, but by then Victoria had been replaced as governess with Maggie Evans. Jaclyn Smith was offered the role of Victoria after AM left, but turned it down (She was going out with Roger Davis at the time. They were married from 1972 until 1976).

Alexandra is part of the prestigous Moltke family and is actually in line for the throne of Denmark (after around 50 other people, lol). In the 1970s she divorced Phillip Isles. In the early/mid 1980s, she became nortorious through the Count von Bulow scandal. She was dating Claus von Bulow, who was at the time married (it wasn't an affair since Claus was ready for a divorce and so was his wife). He injected his wife Sunny von Bulow with either poision or insulin. She went into a coma. From what I know of, she is still in a coma after 22 years (either that or she died, I'm not sure). Claus was brought to trial and AM was brought in to testify - at one point she tried to leave the country so she could get away, but due to her being ordered to testified she couldn't.

She retired from acting but has become a documentary writer and director. Her "Scandalize My Name: Stories From the Blacklist" was released in 1999. A character based on Alexandra was included in the 1990 film "Reversal of Fortune," about the murder trial of her onetime friend, Claus Von Bulow.

Alexandra was on the show from June 27 1966 (#1) until November 19 1968 (#627)

So thats what happen to Victoria. I wondered what that horrible acting actress was doing playing Victoria. She, imo, is an insult to Victoria.

Yep, lol. I don't like Betsy Durkin as Victoria. I mean Alexandra Moltke played Vicki in 333 episodes, then they shove a replacement who does not look like AM or talk like her down our throats. Betsy has a very shrill voice that gets irritating after a while. They should've just had Vicki and Jeff get marry and move away in AM's last episode. I hear the last Vicki is a pretty good one, too bad they didn't just hire her in the first place.

Wait, are you saying you just got into this show? I thought you have seen DS from the beginning, you know SO MUCH about the show. How long have you been watching DS? I just get in and out of it. Whenever it looks good, like Victoria going back in time, I'll watch it. But usually I don't because I have other stuff to do. I think I have seen the Devil Tot storyline or what ever its called. Is there a couple who owns a store that Carolyn knows in the show?

LOL I just got into this show in Febuary. I've seen the first 60 episodes, the first few Barnabas ones (and a few right before he came), 25 right before 1795, 1795, Adam/Dream Curse, and the end of haunting of Gerard/Daphne and beginning of 1840. BTW, the one with the store is the Levithan storyline. That one will probably air in summer 2003 or spring 2003.

Then thats the first storyline I saw. I remember a store with, I think an evil couple running it, and a blonde would help out. It must have been years since I seen it. Not until next year!

I hate waiting! How do you know when certain episodes will air? Are you psychic or just good at math?

No, lol. I go to the Sci Fi site and copy them from there and copy them heavily. Sci Fi says #1 is #211, the first 210 are numbered differently on thier site so I have to go through episode guides seeing if any of them are double episode guides, etc. The Levithan storyline has a reputation for being pretty bad, though some people really love it. I think it was one of the lowest rated storyliens during the show's history. I'm looking forward to the episodes last this, I've seen a few from 1970 and they seem darker then the ones on now.

The Levithan storyline started with #887 (11-18-69) and ends with #980 (03-27-70). But I believe the real start is like #885 when BArnabas first encounters the Levithans.
