Default New complete series missing episodes!

I bought the new dvd complete series release and am wondering why there are only 23 episodes in season one. There are 4 discs with episodes as follows:

Disc 1: ep 1-6
Disc 2: ep. 8-13
Disc 3: ep. 15-20
Disc 4: ep. 22-26

That makes 23 episodes total for season 1. Wikipedia states there were 26 episodes made this season. So where are the missing episodes 7, 14 and 21??

I haven’t checked the second or third season discs yet but I bet they’re missing episodes also. WHY??

Maybe you got faulty discs?

I guess that is possible but I don't think so. Each disc is numbered where the missing episodes are just skipped. So for disc 1, episodes 1-6 are listed in the onscreen menu. For disc 2, episodes 8 - 13 are listed. Disc 3 lists eps 15 -20 and disc 4 lists eps 22-26.

I have since checked seasons two and three and for both of these seasons, episodes 13 and 20 are missing.

So out of a set labeled "the complete series", 7 whole episodes are missing. Pretty damn lousy. I emailed Warner Brothers this morning to let them know.

I have no dog in this fight, but shouldn’t there have been similar comments in the reviews here—->

https://www.amazon.com/Mayberry-R-F-...s%2C162&sr=8-7

I would be genuinely curious as to the actual DVD contents. *IF* it’s truly complete, I would say that a request for an exchange is in order.

Yeah, who knows. I would also think if there were missing episodes we would have heard so by now, A few weeks into release. Maybe it's a numbering issue as well or a disc problem. And maybe that's why Amazon is "out of stock". Just a few thoughts.

It took me awhile but I solved this. I'm on disc 2 of season 2, which initially appears to have only episodes 7 thru 12. At the the bottom right of the episode list, there is a 'NEXT' button, and the "missing" episode 13 is by itself on the next screen.

Stevea, thanks for the update. I'll check my discs this evening when I get home and see if I also have the "next" button at bottom of screen.

Did you check the season one discs to see if there's a next button there also? Because I didn't see the three eps I mentioned in my original note on those discs either. I''ll check season one also when I get home and report back. thanks.

From Season 1 episode #7, is the missing episode titled "Youth Takes Over"?

Maybe that one is wee too controversial for today's standards.

The product description literally lists “78 episodes” so I’m having a hard time believing they would intentionally leave seven episodes off, especially when those 3 episodes were released previously. Sounds like a mistake to me as far as the episode count goes. “78 episodes on 12 discs”

I would imagine that all the episodes must be there, but the menu screens might be a little tricky to navigate.

Are these Mayberry RFD DVD's formatted in 4:3 full screen?

I'm not really fond of The Andy Griffith Show so I don't have those DVD's. But Mayberry RFD? Eh, I'm sort of lukewarm about it, I like Ken Berry and Arlene Golonka but not really all that fond of the other actors on the show. If I don't buy it myself, maybe I will put Mayberry RFD on my Christmas wish list and a family member will gift it to me.

I don't know the format as I didn't look at that info on the back of the package. However, I do think you should get it. It's a relaxing, fun show. Of course, I like most all the characters and I also love the first five seasons of TAGS. Season 7 of Andy Griffith is also really good.

Okay, I checked my discs just now and you’re right. There is a next button at the bottom of the screen so all the episodes are there. Sorry for the confusion I caused. I feel stupid now!

Amazingly, the episodes are original 4:3 full screen, no black bars in sight. They look to me to not be remastered, so they retain that original film look. Which is fine with me! Episodes I've seen so far run over 25:30, most around 25:45.

Season 1 episode 7 is on disc one, after using the "NEXT" button. It is that episode title.
