Looks like future of food production is here. U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) green-lighted two brands to make cell-grown chicken for consumers. The two California-based companies, Upside Foods and Eat Just Inc., can now commercially produce and sell chicken grown from cells.
Commonly referred to as lab-grown chicken, the official term is cell-cultivated chicken. Technicians by providing consistent temperature and moisture levels that mimic the body of a chicken, can grow and multiply chicken cells in a culture dish taken from a live chicken. Which mean one don't have to kill the chicken to have a chicken sandwich for dinner. Because of production cost, cultivated-chicken meat will only be available in fine-dining setting at first before launching mass production as production cost lowered. If it didn’t come from a chicken, it isn’t chicken meat. If it is a real chicken but a cloned chicken, it is still a chicken.
There is a food reviewer called “The Report of the Week” who does critiques of different items fast food places come out with. He reviewed the plant based “impossible” chicken nuggets. He would eat the food he reviews in front of the camera and the meat was tougher than old leather. You can find the review online. I have no issue with cloning or plant based foods. It will come to the time where people will be eating insects because of the population and that meat will be too expensive. We even see now how expensive food is (although a lot of excuses are lies and half lies like “suppily chain” nonsense or the billionaire refrain that they can’t find enough people to work and we are all lazy. It’s like this “inflation” we are suffering through now. It is because the top one tenth of one percent are robbing us again, and again and again. I don’t think we will ever reach Soylent Green but who knows. Human meat probably tastes like pork. |
