In my box of music I found an album called Tisha which was the debut album of Martin actress Tisha Campbell and I was wondering if this album was gonna make Tisha a superstar in music? It was released in 1992 by Capitol Records and had only one single released called Love Me Down. This album Tisha seemed to be Tisha Campbell's lone album and from what I could tell Capitol Records didn't give the album enough promotion and Tisha Campbell hasn't released another album since then

Tisha was considering a music career. At only about 17, she was a Singer in Little Shop Of Horrors and had a promising singing career with Love Me Down like you pointed out, and even sang Love Me Down on Martin. Fans of Martin were like,"Tisha is shamelessly doing a self promotion by singing Love Me Down on Martin! LMAO!
I guess singing career didn't quite pan out for her but acting took off really well for her.

I was surprised at Tisha Campbell's singing when I bought my own copy of the Tisha album and she did have a wonderful voice and most notably in the ballad All Good Things Come In Time you can see where her voice shined for ballads and reminded me of Mariah Carey. But I think they were trying to make her like singer Cathy Dennis in the song The Feeling's Right because when you listen to it you can hear traces of Cathy Dennis in the song. But why Capitol Records didn't promote Tisha Campbell's album enough is because Capitol Records although they were strong in the R&B music department with artists like Tracie Spencer it seemed that Tisha Campbell was gonna be a strong singer but it just wasn't meant to be

I listened to Tisha Campbell's lone album yesterday and she really does have a wonderful voice but what I think happened was when Tisha Campbell released her debut album in 1992 as I mentioned in my opening post Capitol Records gave the album poor promotion and should've released more singles from it. Because when it comes to upcoming R&B artists especially singers meant to be big successes and Capitol Records really knew how to market new upcoming artists and singers that were gonna be huge. Tracie Spencer was another artist on Capitol Records who was a big star but she only released two successful albums but she was dropped by Capitol Records after her third album sold poorly. But in Tisha Campbell's case Capitol Records should've given Tisha another chance to record a second album

When it comes to actresses especially ones who have a great singing voice they seem to think they will become really huge as a singer. Tisha Campbell is one of those singers and when I bought her album I was shocked that she could sing so well and I thought "this girl's gonna be like Whitney Houston" but it is a shame that Love Me Down was the only single from this album and I think the real problem was that Tisha Campbell thought she could be like Whitney Houston and I think Capitol Records thought she could be a rising star. But it's a shame the Tisha album is out of print because it is a good album
