It could be with how far the afifiliate is from your house as well as how powerful the station is amongst other things.

Yes, I have issues once in awhile with certain stations and I found out it's usually the distance of the station or the power of the station being broadcast. I sometimes get a station in one room of the apartment but not in another room. Stations can be very finicky. I was also told some TV sets are apt to bring in better reception and one of my televisions is quite old and the other one is three years old. A few factors can be at play with those issues.

So buying a $60.00 antenna is a waste of time? lol

The only thing that comes in Crystal Clear is METV and Catchy Comedy

Maybe. I bought a digital antenna that claims it can reach over 100 miles. I bought it among other reasons to get stations from Tampa and Miami (different TV markets than from where I live that is within 100 miles from where I live) and I couldn’t get any stations from Tampa. I did however get a couple stations that my cable system doesn’t carry.

You may also want to get an antenna just in case your cable is out for a long time like as in a lot of days.

The one I have now is a RCA and i says 60miles. The one that is $55 says 550 miles so I may go ahead and get that one. Mainly because in the summer its not much to watch since its no sports.

I remember growing up my family had a huge aerial antenna that rotated. We point it in one direction we'd get stations in Pittsburgh, another direction Steubenville Ohio, and another to Johnstown PA. Years later my grandmother and uncle lived in Vermont near the Canadian border. They also had a huge aerial antenna and got stations in Burlington Vermont which was across the state, Canada and New Hampshire. Recently my aunt who lives east of Pittsburgh had a large indoor antenna set in her attic. Digital TV started at that time. She did get stations from various locations but not as easy as how my family and grandmother did in the Analog era.

Too bad we don't have Radio Shack any more. Go to a good electronics store like Best Buy and get advise from them. They will have many antennas to choose from. You're bound to find one that works assuming the channels you're trying to find are strong enough to be reached.

I highly suggest getting a Mohu leaf antenna. The range on these is 65 miles and maybe higher. I have one and have yet to find anything better. I tried mine in 3 separate locations in the house and the most channels I have received is 93. I currently get the following:

Antenna - 3
Bounce - 3
Buzzr - 0
Catchy - 1/2 (Affiliate constantly simulcasts programming from WRAL)
Charge! - 2
Comet - 2
Cozi - 2
Get - 3
Grit - 3
H&I - 2
ION -2
LAFF - 3
METV - 3
Rewind - 3
This - 0

This list doesn't include channels received with Roku.

One of the disadvantages of digital is it tends to give either a great picture or no picture at all. I used to pull in fuzzy or ghost pictures from cities where I don't receive anything now.

we would love, love to receive antenna tv channel, but the tv station affiliate is miles and miles and miles away about 90 miles or less...........and tv station is on other side of mountains...guy at retail store told us the antenna that was supposed to reach 100 miles probably wouldn't help us receive tv station that carries ant tv affiliate............ because of those darn hills.cable system doesnt have ant tv channel..cant stream it either....other suggestions? please help...the antenna tv channel lists one city for viewers in metro ....suburban....area to get ant tv ..but the tv station is actually miles away and located in a diff city.

Did you mean 55 miles? No antenna will receive signals from that far. You're lucky to get any channels beyond 60-70 miles away.
