Weird cast change story - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Does anyone else think it was weird how they wrote the cast change episode? Charles and Buddy come back from a 2 week vacation (actually, their vacation was nearly 2 years long, the amount of time between network cancellation and the syndication revival) to find a new family at the house. What was the reason why the Pembrokes couldn't contact Charles about their moving and Powell's moving in?

I SO Totally agree. Its a stain in the series. I mean we can buy that in tv time charles vacation was 2 weeks but i never bought that the pembrokes all of a sudden decided to sell thier house and forgot about beloved Charles. I think the producers just wanted to distance themselves with the orginal series as quick as possible and were not very concerend about how they went about it.
