Dinah Washington

When I begin my morning routine of listening to music I sometimes discover artists and learn more about them. One singer I discovered was jazz singer Dinah Washington and if you had heard or are familiar with the song What A Difference A Day Makes you might have heard this amazing lady. Because Dinah Washington was such a talented lady and when she teamed up with Brook Benton she and Brook made wonderful duets. Interestingly the song What A Difference A Day Makes is an English cover of a Spanish language hit that became a hit ballad in Mexico. Other songs I discovered of Dinah Washington was This Bitter Earth and Look To The Rainbow and those two songs are amazing and shows Dinah's powerful voice very well. It's a shame that Dinah Washington died so soon but her voice has inspired many female singers and many singers have covered Dinah's songs including Deborah Cox who has a album of Dinah Washington's songs called Destination Moon which is also a wonderful album

Hi, Hawkee! I agree Dinah had a great voice. Do you know if she dueted with anybody else? I think she was as good as Ella Fitzgerald. Thank you for reminding me. I listened to her today, thanks to you.
