An I Love Lucy Father’s Day:

(The Ricardo’s and Mertzes are in the Ricardo’s dining room.)

Ethel: “Hey Lucy, what are you and Ricky doing for Father’s Day?”

Lucy: “Ricky’s Uncle Alberto is coming to visit us.”

Ricky: “Yeah, he practically raised me when I was a kid.”

Lucy: “Yes, and me and you Ethel are going to bake a cake for him.”

Ethel: “What?”

Lucy: “Ethel I need some help baking a cake.”

Ricky: “Lucy, wouldn’t it be better if you went to a bakery and have the cake professionally made? Do you agree Fred? Wouldn’t you want Ethel to have the cake made professionally for your Dad?”

Fred: “If it costs me money, no.”

(Ricky laughs.)

Ethel: “Lucy, I know nothing about making cakes.”

Fred: “If you did, you probably would eat them.”

(Ricky laughs.)

Ricky: “Now Lucy, you get that cake made professionally understand?”

Lucy: “Yes sir.”

Ricky: “Fred, let’s go outside to check on the chickens.”

(They go outside.)

Lucy: “Come on Ethel, let’s bake the cake.”

Ethel: “Lucy.”

Lucy: “Cone on Ethel. It won’t cost Ricky a cent with my method.”

(They go and bake a cake. They are baking the cake very badly. On Father’s Day, Uncle Alberto arrives. He is dressed to the teeth.)

Ricky: “Happy Father’s Day Uncle Alberto.”

Alberto: “Thsnk you Ricky. You have a lovely home here.”

Lucy: “I am ready with the cake.”

(Lucy brings it out and it’s sooo big that she trips and falls onto Uncle Alberto who is now a big mess.)

(Ricky is fuming.)

Ricky: “Now Lucy, what’s the ‘splanation?”

Lucy: “Ok, the ‘splanation. You see, me and Ethel baked the cake and we did a great job but if it wasn’t for that rug being there, I wouldn’t have tripped.”

(Everyone laughs, including Uncle Alberto.)

Ricky: “This is so crazy and it could only happen to you.”

(Lucy is now laughing.)

Uncle Alberto: “Let’s dig in.”

(Everyone eats the cake.)
