Default Archie Bunker's Place coming to TV Land starting Sept 30!

Sun-Thurs 11:59pm e/p starting Monday September 30th on TV Land. The Jeffersons will air right after it at 12:30am.
Remember All in the Family will air on Nick @ Nite in September and October at 11 and 11:30pm e/p Sun-Thurs. So AITF/ABP is sort of back-to-back.

I heard that the "Edith's death" episode is no longer in syndication. Is that true?

Why would you want to see a episode that is depressing? Comedies are supposed to be fun to watch not looking at a episode when someone die in their sleep. I think that may be the reason why that episode is not in syndication.

I don't think TV LAND should show it-that episode doesn't make the show a comedy-more like a drama-I think TV LAND should really think twice about showing that type of episode.

Lots of their comedies have had serious episodes. I'm looking forward to the Edith's Death episode because it's a major landmark in the AITF/ABP series. I hear it's very well acted, I can't wait till TV Land airsi t.

The producers of the show never tried to make this show a comedy farce; if anything, it was a dramedy. Furthermore, TVLand shows dramas, why not show this episode? Why shouldn't they show it? Because it's a powerful hour of television? You're right, how dare they air a powerful hour of television...

There is an Archie Bunker's Place board, so I'm moving this thread over there (sorry Pavanbadal). Please discuss ABP topics on that board. Thank you.

That's why I want to see it. I don't care how sad or depressing it is. I enjoy a good cry. That's what I like best about All in the Family, and what I will like about this episode too. It can make you laugh one episode and cry your eyes out in the next episode.

I can't wait to see it.

I posted it there before too, I thought it would be better to have both boards have the topic...

"Archie Alone" (Edith's Death) in 2 part format was in the Archie Bunker's Place syndications package when ABP last aired on UPN 57 (WPSG) in Philadelphia on and off between 1998 and 2000. I personally saw it aired twice on UPN 57 once in the fall of 1998 and again in the spring of 1999. It probably aired a third time on UPN 57 in the summer of 2000. I don’t think it has been dropped from the ABP package.

I don't think it has either. The death episode answers questions. If it was dropped from syndication, viewers would wonder where Edith went. The death episode has to play so viewers know that Edith died. It won't be a pretty episode to watch. I bet it will be tragic and odd to watch.
