With Carol Burnett's infamous Tarzan yell, I assumed Tarzan was a wild and crazy guy. Today a song came on SiriusXM's Broadway station that was really soothing, sounded nice but I never would have guessed from Tarzan. Then the next song was highly melancholy coming from something upbeat sounding called On the Town.

If you only go by Hollywood Tarzan, he's just a savage living in the trees. But the original books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tarzan was intelligent, did not live in trees (though he did sleep in them when traveling through the jungle), he and Jane lived in a large house near the jungle, Tarzan inherited his parent's estate back in England (his father being a Lord), but Tarzan chose to live in Africa.. Tarzan also could speak multiple languages, drive, fly planes. He did try to fit in with society, give up his jungle ways, live in the city, but that didn't last.
