Alice had power of the purse

In 2 episodes we see Alice ordering services for the house that the owners were not aware of. In the episode where Jan was the practical joker, we see Alice call an exterminator when she sees Myron, the mouse in the kitchen. In the "Welcome Aboard" episode Alice calls a diaper service when she thinks Carol is pregnant. Once she finds out about the mistake she says she has to call and cancel the order.
Alice really was part of the family. Not only did they take their housekeeper on vacation but allowed her to call for services to the home.
