Default Dorothy's Prom - Did She Go Or Not?

I can remember three times where Dorothy's prom is mentioned, but I'm sure it was mentioned at least four times.

When Dorothy's high school friend Trudy came to visit, they reminisced about their prom. When Dorothy almost married Stan, they reminisced about their prom.

But in another episode, Dorothy mentioned that she did not go to her prom, because she was stood up. I also think there was another episode, where either Dorothy or Sophia mentioned that Dorothy did not go to her prom, but I can't remember that episode.

I think Dorothy went to A prom, but I'm not sure about which one.

Dorothy and Stan did "get together" after prom, but Dorothy may have gone to two proms (junior and senior?).

There was an episode where Dorothy was reunited with an old boyfriend -- Michael ____?_____ I think. He was played by Hal Linden (Barney Miller). They were to have gone to a dance, but he supposedly didn't show. Dorothy was devastated and thought that she was worthless. So, when Stan asked her to the prom a few weeks later, she felt it was like a last chance. So, she went with him, and then... well, you know.

Dorothy learned when this guy came back that Sophia had turned him away because he looked like a thug. Dorothy was upset with Sophia, but later learned from Hal Linden that he turned out to be a great man because of Sophia. So, it kind of worked out for him.

So, I think the dance you are thinking of that she got stood up was this episode. There are other references to not going and going, so who knows...

Plus... I always thought Dorothy was supposed to be in her 50s. However, the basic math of 38 years of marriage PLUS 18 years old in high school equals 56. So, pretty much she was right at 60 when the series started. The math just doesn't do it right......

I do remember the Hal Linden episode. That was the episode that I was thinking about, when Dorothy mentioned that she got stood up.

What is confusing is that episode was shown not long after Dorothy and Stan almost got remarried. When Dorothy and Stan almost got remarried, they were reminiscing about their prom, and when Golden Girls in on six days a week, not long after that, is the episode where Dorothy says she was stood up, and never went to her prom.

I do agree the math concerning Dorothy's age doesn't seem right. Dorothy became a mother at 17 or 18, but neither her two kids looked to be over 40. Both her kids looked young.
